Describe your favorite type of clothing.

In the winter time give me a good comfy pair of bluejeans, an oversized sweatshirt, and my comfy socks, or if I have to go out, my hiking boots.

In the summer, shorts, t-shirt or tank and my flip flops.

Where were you and what were you doing the day President Reagan got shot?

Okay, I adapted this a little. It originally said Kennedy but I wasn't born yet when Kennedy was shot.

I was in the 8th Grade and was a student at Farmington Middle School in Farmington, Missouri. I remember when the final bell rang and I went outside to meet Pam to walk home and one of my friends asked had I heard that someone had tried to kill the President. It was a very weird feeling.

Do you have any pets? Describe them.

I have a Chihuahua named Festus. Wasn't ever planning on having another pet, BUT plans have a way of changing on you. I went home to Missouri for Thanksgiving and my Aunt Sandy told me that she had a puppy I needed to see. Well I saw him and it was love at first site.He was born October 2nd and was 6 weeks old and fit in my hand. (Those of you that know me, know I have small hands) I brought him inside to see how he would do away from his mom. He done great. Slept with me at night, right on my shoulder. I took him to get his picture made with Santa on December 8th and tried to weigh him and he didn't even register on the scale.(Not even a pound). Took him again on February 2 and he weighed 2.2 pounds, took him in yesterday (16th) and he weighs 2.9. Almost 3 pounds, getting HUGE. Because he was so small and I live in an upstairs apartment we have just been paper training. He is doing really good. I took him outside and put him down on the ground for the first time yesterday and he LOVED it. Now off to buy a harness and leash so we can go for walks. I should also add that he is just like his momma, he loves Mountain Dew!

Who is your favorite comedian, and why?

My favorite comedian would have to be BOB HOPE! I grew up watching him with my dad. One of the reasons why he is my fave is all the work he done for the military over the years. No one else has given of their time and put their life in danger like Bob did, all because he wanted to bring a little bit of home to the troops. I never had the chance to see Bob myself, he died July 27, 2003 (at 100) while I was serving in Iraq. It was a sad day. My Uncle Jim did get a chance to see him while serving in Vietnam.

The following taken from Wikipedia

Hope performed his first United Service Organizations (USO) show on May 6, 1941, at March Field, California. He continued to travel and entertain troops for the rest of World War II and later during the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the 1990–1991 Persian Gulf War. When overseas he almost always performed in Army fatigues as a show of support for his audience. Hope's USO career lasted half a century, during which he headlined approximately sixty tours. For his service to his country through the USO, Hope was awarded the prestigious Sylvanus Thayer Award by the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1968.

Of Hope's USO shows in World War II, writer John Steinbeck, who was then working as a war correspondent, wrote in 1943:

When the time for recognition of service to the nation in wartime comes to be considered, Bob Hope should be high on the list. This man drives himself and is driven. It is impossible to see how he can do so much, can cover so much ground, can work so hard, and can be so effective. He works month after month at a pace that would kill most people.[8]
A 1997 act of Congress signed by President Clinton named Hope an "Honorary Veteran". He remarked, "I've been given many awards in my lifetime — but to be numbered among the men and women I admire most — is the greatest honor I have ever received."

Describe a favorite vacation in your adult years!

I would have to say that one of my fave vacations of my adult years was just last year when I went to Mexico. We spent three days at the Sunscape Resort on the Maya Riveria with our host Nancy, who is the BEST travel agent in the world. (You can check her out at travelininc.com). While there we got to party with some of the best singers, songwriters to come out of Nashville, Wade Hayes, Trent Willmon and Jace Everett. Also along for the trip were a few up and comers, Jamie Fox, Ray Stepenson and Shannon Mock. I also swam with dolphins and some of us took time out to head over to Chichen Itza to check out the Mayan Ruins. I would have to say for a person that would rather be in the mountains than on a beach I had an AWESOME time. For more pics you can see the slideshow above or click on my profile and go to my web page.

About this Blog!

I am not the greatest at keeping in touch with family and friends so I decided this might be a good way to do it. As I said in the previous post, I love to scrap and one of the things that is very popular with scrapbookers is what is called a journaling jar. You decorate a jar and put questions or statements in it and pull one out a day and write in journal. I am going to do this with my blog have a journaling jar sitting on the desk beside the computer and when I have time post a new blog. Hope everyone enjoys! Love ya

We have SNOW!

It started about 6:30pm yesterday and it is still going. It is supposed to continue until around noon. We only have about 3 inches here in the area I live in, but it is BEAUTIFUL! So glad it is on the weekend where I don't have to drive in it, I can just sit back and enjoy it.
